A new generation of child-resistant closures - CRC just ONE

At this year's CPhI pharmaceutical fair in Milan, ALPLA will present its CRC justONE closure made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE). This innovative product is not only sustainable but also highly cost-effective, thanks to advanced technology that enables its production in a single manufacturing step.

From Three to One

Typically, producing a childproof closure requires three separate parts, each manufactured in individual production steps and then assembled. These closures feature a tamper-evident ring that can only be opened by simultaneously pushing and turning. ALPLApharma has optimized this process, streamlining production to a more efficient workflow. Now, all parts are produced in a single injection-molding step, followed by simple assembly.

This improved process reduces material consumption by up to 25%, resulting in significant cost savings while sustainably protecting resources. For consumers, the functionality remains the same: the CRC justONE works like any other child-resistant closure, offering the same reliable product safety.

The new closure is certified under 16 CFR §1700.20 and ISO 8317 for childproof packaging and is suitable for bottles ranging from 30 millilitres to 1.5 litres. It is compatible with 28 mm standard necks commonly used in the pharmaceutical market for both glass and plastic bottles.
